Editorial policy

Sources

We work from primary sources wherever they exist: Portuguese law and government publications, AIMA, the consular network, the tax authority, social security, the national health service, national statistics and EU institutions. Secondary sources are used for context, never as the basis of a factual claim about a requirement.

Verification and review

Every page carries a last-verified date and a scheduled review date. Pages covering fast-moving areas — residence permits, income thresholds, appointment processes — are reviewed more often than stable practical guides. Changeable figures live in a single dated table rather than being written into individual pages.

Use of AI

AI may assist with research, structuring and drafting. Substantive immigration, administrative and financial claims are checked against identified sources before publication. We do not publish generated content automatically, and every new page starts as a draft.

What we will not do

We do not invent statistics, case studies, personal experiences, reader numbers or credentials. We do not publish pages that exist only to target a search query. We do not present tool output as an eligibility decision.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, contact us. We correct the page, update the verification date, and note material changes in our updates section.

Commercial disclosure

The site is funded by advertising and, in future, by our own digital products and clearly disclosed partnerships. Commercial relationships never determine editorial recommendations, and any affiliate relationship will be disclosed on the page where it appears.
